Motorcycle stator cover removal and installation tips:
Remove all stator cover exterior 5mm or 8mm bolts from cover.
Stator has a magnetic pull around the flywheel. The magneto stator is mounted to the inside of the stator cover.
There are flanges on the outside of covers, which allow you to pull from. (Wiggle motion) will help release cover from motor.
There are alignment pins that may come with cover once removed, put them back on the motor side. These pins work with the crank sensor. If cover is tilted one way cause timing issues and could not allow motorcycle to not run.
Clean off all the gasket material if stuck to motor side and cover.
Remove the bolts that hold the stator, this is usually 3 bolts and 2 sensor bolts.
With new see thru cover mount stator run wire harness back thru cover. If rubber on harness is good no use for silicone, but if it seems worn or crack use a dab of silicone to make a good seal. Make sure to put back with wire guard tab and use same bolts and hand start bolts.
Once everything inside cover is complete, now you are ready to mount the new custom stator cover to motor. Now be ready! and have it aligned in your hand to set back on alignment pins, because the magnetic pull will force cover out your hand and could pinch your fingers between cover. Now that the stator cover is on, use loctite then hand tight screws and then torque to proper specs.
